The psychic gift of Psychometry is also known as token object reading.  It is being able to sense or read the history of an object by holding it in your hand.

As a small child I used to go treasure hunting with my grandma.  She taught me the skill of seeing beauty in things that other people ignored or overlooked.  Together we would go to attic sales and we would hunt through dusty old boxes to find long forgotten treasures.  I was fascinated how these objects made my hand warm as I held them.  For me, each of these objects had been lost and now it was found.  When I walked home with the treasure it would make my hand feel hot or cold and then I would feel happy or sad.  I would have a clear vision of what the person who bought it looked like and could picture them holding it in their hand.

In middle age I embraced and understood my unique psychic gift.  I use it constantly when I search out treasures for my curios collection.  I only truly realised how strong my gift was when a stranger tested me.  They handed me a plain white envelope with an object in it, they placed it on the palm of my hand.  All I was allowed to do was hold the sealed envelope on one hand and concentrate on it for 3 minutes.  Quickly the message came through.  "It was a round metal object.  It was very small bit it held a lot of love within it and its owner had a big voice.  It was a ring, not a ring.  Yes it was a silver coloured ring".  I had told its hidden story perfectly.  The object was a small silver ring given to its owner when she was a teenager by her much loved father.  Now on her adult finger it was very small and its owner had a beautiful, confident, big voice.  The last thing was that it was a broken ring, it had a huge split at the back of it.  That made sense of the message that it was a ring, not a ring as I had sensed it had a split in it!

My artwork is also inspired by my childhood gift of Psychometry too.

With my gift of Psychometry I channel riddles and rhymes from the objects as I hold them in my hand

Forget me not.....

"For I am broken but still beautiful.

I am half here and half there but I speak between two worlds.

I am tangible and can be held within your hand but I can disappear again I'm sure.

My soul is deep, buried very deep indeed.  But my heart is open for you forever more.

Forget me not....."

Broken Beauty

"Yes I am broken but I am more beautiful now.

My life, my history are all part of my great whole.

I am not perfect, nor am I sweet but I have great strength held deep within.

This strength is from my soul.

It sings a merry tune.

It winks at you and whispers its experience with past owners too.

My heart may be cracked open wide for all to see but these cracks and patina hold within them my DNA, my beauty and my strength.
